Description

The Selection toolbox provides quick access to all of the selection commands in Fidelity Pointwise (similar to the Selection toolbar) and also allows you to adjust settings for the more advanced selection commands without having to enter into a panel.

The Selection toolbox can be either collapsed to the size of a toolbar (shown left) or expanded to provide persistent access to settings (shown right). When collapsed, clicking on Select Similar Settings or Select By Histogram pops open a window (shown center), giving temporary access to those settings.

Similar to toolbars, the Selection toolbox can be docked to several locations on your screen (either on the left side or the right side) or can be undocked and moved to a convenient location. Unlike toolbars, however, the Selection toolbox can only be oriented vertically.

Tip: If you need to make several selections using the Select Similar command with different settings, go ahead and expand the Selection toolbox to give persistent access to the settings. When you are finished, collapse it again to reduce visual clutter and recapture your screen real estate. You can also undock the Selection toolbox and move it closer to where you are working to minimize mouse travel.

Click the Open Panel Icon icon to expand the toolbox. Once expanded, click the Close Panel Icon icon to collapse the toolbox again. Note that the orientation and location of your icons may be flipped depending on whether the toolbox is currently docked to the left side of the screen, docked the right side of the screen, or undocked. When collapsed, click on Select Similar Settings or Select By Histogram to bring up a window, giving temporary access to those settings. For a complete description of all tools available within the Selection toolbox, please refer to the Select menu section of this User Manual.
