Gridgen and Pointwise Training Courses

Learn how to generate good grids in the shortest possible time by attending a Gridgen or Pointwise training course at Pointwise. You will learn the best approaches to many common meshing challenges and become familiar with the use of Gridgen and/or Pointwise. Come to training to learn about the latest features that you can use to make your job easier. If you are not currently a user and are considering licensing one of our products, come to training to see for yourself how our Gridgen and Pointwise can accelerate your projects.

Instructors with significant industry experience teach our training courses. The courses are composed of both lecture and hands-on sessions. During the lecture sessions, the instructors describe and demonstrate, in detail, various aspects of Gridgen and Pointwise operations from how the graphical user interfaces work to exporting the final grid.

Interspersed throughout the lectures are hands-on sessions in which the attendees work through the construction of several grids. A notebook containing the lectures notes and tutorials is provided to each attendee.

Gridgen and Pointwise Training Courses are regularly conducted at our Fort Worth, Texas office and at regional facilities around the world. The upcoming classes currently scheduled are shown below.

Course Fees

• Courses in Fort Worth are FREE for clients with up-to-date maintenance.
• The Fort Worth course fee is $250 for attendees who aren't yet customers.
• The fee for regional courses is $250 for all attendees.
• For any course, the training fee will be refunded to a new customer who licenses within 90 days of the course.
• Additional days of personalized training or consulting are $1,500 per day.

Gridgen Standard Training Course

The Gridgen Standard Training Course includes three days covering both basic and advanced Gridgen usage. The most commonly used GUI commands and efficient tools for making grids quickly are thoroughly explained. The training course progresses to more advanced tools and how to work with difficult topologies and geometry models. Tutorials will demonstrate the topics discussed and allow attendees their own practice time with the newly learned tools.

Gridgen Advanced Training Course

The Gridgen Advanced Training Course includes one day covering all the things that seasoned users want to see. Topics include classic and new tools such as the Structured and Unstructured Solvers, Anisotropic Tet and Triangle generation, Solid Modeling and more. Like all of our courses, this class includes hands-on experience through related tutorials. This course assumes a significant amount of Gridgen experience and is not suited for new users. Offered in conjunction with the Pointwise Standard course.

Pointwise Standard Training Course

The Pointwise Standard Training Course includes a day and a half on a full overview of the program, with emphasis on the graphical user interface (GUI): style, interaction and customization. Through demonstrations, this course also covers the most frequently used commands for various meshing problem types. Hands-on experience focuses on getting the most out of Pointwise as quickly as possible. This course assumes no prior experience using Pointwise and is suitable for all experience levels.
