CGNS is a general, portable, and extensible standard for storage and retrieval of CFD data. cgns.sourceforge.net

Custom Interfaces Using Plugins

Pointwise's CAE Plugin API allows custom exporters of grid and boundary conditions to be written by the customer and inserted at run time. Rather than utilize a neutral format, a CAE plugin can be written to provide exactly the format you need. A plugin is perfect for research codes that change frequently or proprietary formats you'd rather not have everyone exporting.
