Qualifications

Teaching licenses are available to recognized academic institutions that

• Have a minimum of
• two current annual Gridgen or Pointwise academic licenses or
• two Gridgen or Pointwise perpetual licenses with current maintenance
• Will be using the free licenses exclusively for a class or a lab and not for paid research.

Requirements - First Year

• Teaching license request - A short summary (200 words or less) of why you need Pointwise and/or Gridgen and what applications you will be working on. This introductory summary only is required the first year.
• Teaching license certification letter (see below)
• Success story - A written report of at least 500 words about your Pointwise use and at least one image showing a Pointwise mesh or a flow solution around a Pointwise generated model. Grid and database files for meshes. We will also accept a video of students using Pointwise. These must be submitted before the end of the period of performance.

Requirements - Subsequent Years

• Teaching license certification letter (see below)
• Success story - A written report of at least 500 words about your Pointwise use and at least one high resolution image (sent separately from the document) showing a Pointwise mesh or a flow solution around a Pointwise generated model. Grid and database files for meshes. We will also accept a video of students using Pointwise. These must be submitted before the end of the period of performance.

Consider Training

Your license includes training that can help you make the most of your grid generating time. Consider attending a three-day class that covers all aspects of Gridgen and Pointwise use, from geometry modeling through volume grid generation. The training schedule is available at pointwise.com/training.

Licensing

Teaching partnership licenses don't have to be on the same license server as your two academic licenses, but all free licenses must be on a single server.
