Description

Cell Non-Orthogonality is intended to mimic a similar diagnostic in the popular OpenFOAM analysis software. This measure operates on pairs of neighboring cells which share a face. An angle is calculated between a line connecting the centroids of the two cells and the normal of the shared face. The maximum value of this measure for all faces of a given cell is reported per cell. It should be noted that these maximum values per cell should match those values reported by OpenFOAM. However, averages reported will differ since Fidelity Pointwise is reporting only the maximum by cell, whereas OpenFOAM is reporting by cell face.
