Pointwise personnel created this grid for the U.S. Air Force's STOL Maneuver Technology Demonstrator aircraft, a test program based on McDonnel - Douglas's F-15 fighter jet. The geometry model (in this case, wireframe data) is shown in magenta, and the grids on the aircraft surface are shown in yellow. Only every fourth grid line is shown in this figure. The light blue and light green lines represent the boundaries of the 65 blocks used in the volume grid around the aircraft. Only half the aircraft was actually gridded; the grid has been reflected about the symmetry plane for this illustration.
