Using Selection Masks
Download this video ▼
The Mask panel in Pointwise allows a targeted entity-type based selection. In other words, it allows you to filter which entities are selectable.
If you want to select a connector and multiple entity types are enabled in the Mask panel, as is the case here, you would notice multiple entities get highlighted when you hover your mouse cursor over the desired connector. You could click on the Spacebar to toggle through those entities until the connector was highlighted and then press the left mouse button to select it.
The mesh we have here is an excellent example of one in which there are many entities of different types - domains, connectors and blocks. You can see that having to use the Spacebar to cycle through the entities to select the one you want with such a complex grid could be tedious.
Another way of doing it would be to use the Mask panel.
Notice that when you hover your mouse over the entities in the Display window, only connectors are highlighted.
If you would like more advanced options for these masks, you can either press Ctrl + m, or go to Select, Mask.
You will notice that only one connector gets selected. That is because this connector is not being used by any domain.
